Sidewalk Games

June 28, 2012

The girls had mentioned wanting to play jump-rope games, so we decided for an activity we would play Sidewalk Games.  Even though it was 95 degrees outside, it was still a lot of fun.

Sidewalk Paint

Well of course we found this idea on Pinterest.  It is homemade sidewalk paint.  It was pretty fun and interesting to paint a sidewalk.

All you need is:
     -1 cup of cornstarch
  -1 cup of water
   -Food coloring

London Calling

I found a booklet with several different Sidewalk Games, including London Calling.  The girls and I had never played it before, but it was interesting to figure it out.  It is a cross between Hop Scotch and Hangman.  I think Hannah had the most fun labeling what countries the coin landed in!

Jump Rope

We ended the Activity with popsicles and Jump Rope.  The girls had so many fun jump rope songs.  I was very impressed with their jump roping skills.  They even let me have a turn.  Of course, the girls had to reach their arms up high to get the rope over my head!

Fathers day

I forgot to take photos but here is the activity we made. Each girl wrote a note to their father on the back of the tag. They had a lot of fun and even got rootbeer floats to enjoy after all their hard work.

Mother / Daughter Tea Party

Tea parties are the best!  I have not been to one until this one, and I can see why so many ladies love to either throw them or attend them.  The girls worked really hard to make their mothers some pins, pots and utensil holder.  I would have to say that the tea party itself was a hit as well.

The girls played games with their mothers and the other ladies to see who knew them the best.  Some of them guessed correctly each time, and others didn't really know them as well as they thought!

Each of the girls were on their best behavior and had a great time with their mothers.  I look forward to this again next year.

The dessert.... pound cake, ice cream and oreo topping

Resurrection Eggs and Easter Egg Hunt

Today we had a lot of fun finding Easter Eggs and finding out what Easter is all about.

The girls each had an egg that had something to do with the birth of Christ.  As we went around the group, they spoke on what their item was and how they felt about it.  The girls not only had a lot of fun, but they learned more about their Savior.
